Girls taking pics at Old Westbury Gardens, i have heard heels get stuck in grass and get dirty. Some past brides have either: Put plastic arouund heel Bought 2 pairs or bought wedge heels just for OWG.
What is everyone doing?

wow i didn't even think about that, good thing you brought it up. I might get two pairs, more excuses to get shoes
Wow I'm glad you just mentioned this...I guess I'll just have to buy another pair! LOL OR...I could be nice and save money and wear flip flops...hhmm

Absolutely TRUE!!!!!! We took pictures at OWG for my daughter's wedding. All our heels were sinking into the grass. The girl who was 'supposed' to be helping the bride was awful. BUT the pictures at OWG were amazing. You definitely need to think about your shoes.

Re: OWG Dirty Shoes
lol - i have friends that took pics there...the heels got a TAD dirty, but i do NOT think u need to buy two pairs of shoes...don't get me wrong, i was crazy about my shoes...got a couple nice pics of them at my house because i was so in love with them - but honestly, besides me & the bridal party & my hubby - nobody saw them. A lot of friends, and a lot of past brides on here wrapped plastic around them & taped it tight with clear scotch...or got a cute pair of wedge flip flops or sneaks....i'd do either...no need at all to spend the money on another pair!

I got married in May and the grass was soft, I changed after the ceremony specifically for OWG into cute sneakers
Otherwise, I wouldnt worry about them too much, no one will really see your shoes anyway
ETA: If you buy flip flops and are worried about grass stains on your dress, it wont happen. I wore heels and put these sneakers on and dragged my dress the rest of the time. No stains

I don't think it's worth spending the money on another pair of shoes. We were sinking in all over the place and although my shoes got a little dirty it wasn't that bad. No one saw my shoes all day anyway.

my heels dug into the ground but don't fret, if you didn't bring an extra pair of shoes, i don't think ur gonna care. it's ur wedding day. i didn't realize my shoes were dirty until i took them off at the hotel!!!
seriously, dirty heels is the last of ur worries on ur wedding day.

I totally agree! I took pictures at the planting fields and although I did get stuck in the grass a couple of times it was easily cleaned off with a combo of TP and water.

If you're taking your pics anywhere that has grass and are wearing thin heels, they will sink. Thicker heels don't have anything to worry about.

Re: OWG Dirty Shoes
I'd go w/ sneakers like Peg posted or flip flops.....but it also kind of depends what the weather will be like. It rained the day before my bf's wedding, I was the MOH, and the heels of my shoes were completely covered in dirt! I cleaned them when I got home and they were fine, but they were also black shoes, a lighter color would've probably been totally ruined.
