Pacifiers

Are there certain ones your baby likes better? I really want her to take one b/c she has a strong ****ing reflex and I can't nurse all day long. She loves to use my breast as a pacifier! I have Avent nighttime and Nuk. Lyla seems to be ok with all of them but at 8 weeks has trouble keeping them in. I have to hold it in for her and her head has to be back for it to stay in.

I LOVE the NUKS. I dont think age has anything to do with it. Maybe she doesnt really want it ?
They give them to you at the hospital when the babies are born. JA $ucked one like a pro from day one!

Niha-did you check the size of the pacifier? Make sure its newborn size.

I also love the Nuks! Ryan's favorites!! Sometimes it takes them a while to get the hang of keeping it in their mouth. Ryan still pops his out once in a while, but it's much better now.

Annalise used the Nuk's until I found the Gerber Gentle Flex paci's. They are more like the motion they get while breastfeeding. When she starting putting in her own binky, she found these easier too because the handle is fixed. The Nuk handles move up and down. Here they are:

We use the Avent binkys although, I've purchased others and he seems impartial. I like Avent because they seem to be the only ones that come with covers.

Mia doesn't take it all the time, but when she does, she is a pro too....she will take her little hand and hold it in herself. I use the Nuk for newborns....maybe she just doen't like it..Mia will fling it out of her mouth when she doesn't want to be bothered.

Instead of using the latex ones, (I hated the way they smelled), I used the silicone ones. Theyy worked wonderfully, and soothed him when he just wanted to $uck...
