Hi Ladies, I am getting married at the WCC in August '05 and recently found out that my Banquet Manager (Harry) is no longer working there. Needless to say, I was freaking out. Another lady from the Knot told me she was using someone by the name of Steve at the WCC and she really liked him. So of course, I called to schedule an appt with Steve since my BM left and now they tell me that Steve fell ill and is no longer there either!
Has anyone else heard this news? I am really upset about all this. Which Banquet Manager is everyone else using? The receptionist told me we can use either Pat, Mike or Dominick, but I don't know any of them so I'm not sure which one I'd like as our new Banquet manager. Can any of you ladies recommend one of them?

Peter is my BM and he is great. Tomorrow WCC is holding a showcase. Im sure all of the Bm's will be around.....you should go check it out. Im going. Im sorry that has happened to you. There are other and Im happy to have ended up with Peter

Okay...now I am thoroughly confused. The only banquet managers they told me were still there were Pat, Mike and Steve. There was no mention of anyone named Peter. Do you know what time the event starts tomorrow? I live in NYC so it's kind of difficult for me to get out there very easily but maybe I will try to figure something out,

Now, ur scaring me...I might have to talk to them and make sure Peter is there. Maybe they didnt mention him because he is not available for your wedding day.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Peter is no longer there either. I just called and asked to make an appointment with him and they told me he left. They assured me that all 3 of them left for different reasons but this is getting scary!
I'm so sorry about Peter leaving also...guess we are all getting screwed!
When I booked there about a year ago, I had a BM but I forgot his name and when I called for some reason I was shocked to find out he want there anymore. I now have Dominick and he is very nice. I think the catering hall business is kind of weird like that, people come and go. Dont worry, they have your file and all your info is in there.

Yea...U are right! Peter is gone! Great..I liked him. Well I am going to the showcase tomorrow nite. The BM's will be there so I will see if I can meet with them and see who is available for my wedding. Major BUMMER!

Unreal...so many people left! Oh well. Maybe we will go with Dominick since people seem to like him here. I wish I could get out to the showcase tomorrow but I live in NYC and don't have a car. It's really difficult for me to get out there without making plans way in advance. If any of you go to the showcase tomorrow and have any advice on who you liked meeting with, I'd love to hear it!

My BM is Mike. He is really nice. When we went to choose our menu last month, Mike was not there because it was his day off so they asked me if setting up with the appoinment with Pat was OK. FH and I had that day off and we wanted to take things off the list and we set up the appointment with Pat. Pat is a sweetheart, very helpful, and really nice. The catering business is like that. But I wouldn't worry about it or stress on it. When you are dealing with a place like Woodbury Country Club, you have nothing to worry about. There are many brides that have gotten married there and they had told me how true that is and how they can attest to that. So don't worry about it. Things always work out for the best....

My BM is Dominick and I think he is fabulous. I haven't had too many dealings yet, but so far our interaction has been really good.

We have been dealing with Dominick since day one and he is the reason we decided to book the WCC. He is a pleasure to work with and is always very friendly when we have gone up there.

Steve was my manager as well and now I have someone new -- possibly Kathy but still unclear. I'm getting married in a few weeks. Steve is actually ill so that's why he left. There were a few minor mix-ups in terms of what I was told earlier and what I am hearing now but they have straightened everything out. I figure any remaining concerns can be addressed at my rehearsal a few days before the wedding (my ceremony will be outside). I was there two weeks ago and met with Mike Lazzio who I believe is the manager and he was great. Don't worry. You'll be in good hands.

This is all very interesting info! I originally met with Ray, but we booked with Harry. Did they contact you to tell you that he left? or did you find this out by accident?
BTW--what time is the showcase tonight? I feel like I never get any WCC info, except on here!

Nope...no one contacted me or anyone else on these boards it seems. The only people still there are Mike, Pat and Dominick so anyone else mentioned like Harry, Steve, Peter and Ray are gone. I didn't even know there were that many banquet managers to begin with! But it is definitely disconcerting to hear that so many people have left. I just hope it's not because of something shady going on there.
As for the showcase, I believe it's from 7-9pm tonight.
