I kind of regret it. I thought it would look lighter. But it is really lavendar. I don't know what to do with the draperies. Any ideas? What colors would work? Should I play it down or play it up?

I think it will look really different once you get some window treatments, wall decor and an area rug.
But if you really don't like the color, just repaint. The hard part (the trim) is done!

I agree. You can always repaint later, who knows once the room is comppletely decorated you might like it better.

I think I would go with white curtains, something sheer so the light comes through and brightens up the room (if you think its too dark). The color looks pink on my screen too.

I like contrast...maybe pull in a color from the pillow you have on the bench in there? Add an area rug?

I would go with white, cream or sage. I have lavendar, white and sage in my bedroom and it's very calming.

I did not think of sage. That may be good. But I think you might be right. When I add a rug and other stuff, it will look better.
