I kind of regret it. I thought it would look lighter. But it is really lavendar. I don't know what to do with the draperies. Any ideas? What colors would work? Should I play it down or play it up?

Re: Painted our computer room lavendar...uh-oh
I think it looks really good. I would use ivory/cream or white sheers, someone suggest sheers w/ an embroidery, that is a great suggestion. I painted a bathroom a rich purple and accented w/ white and I just love it. in Feng Shui purple equates to $$$$ if the room that is purple is placed correctly in your home!

purple's complimentary color is yellow... so a light yellow would look nice...
you can also try the colors next to it on the color wheel... something in the light red-purple family or the blue-purple family...
or you can go for a monochromatic look... one color... all different shades... so darker and lighter versions of that color...
hope this helps!
(can you tell im an art teacher??) :)

I would go with white, cream or sage. I have lavendar, white and sage in my bedroom and it's very calming.
I agree, I have the same in my bathroom.

what about silver? don't laugh, but sometimes a wash over it looks awesome and silver may add an antiquey look.
you can color wash it with a silver glaze.

i did something similar with our current bedroom... i was aiming for blue, but depending on the light it has a tinge of purple!
