Painting Applicances

Has anyone done this - The stove at the house is pratically brand new but its the biscuit color and I want an all black stove.

What is your opinion - Have it painted or buy new...

If you have had it done can you recommend a someone to do it and how much did it cost??

TIA,
Christine

I've seen it done on TLC Trading Spaces...maybe you can look it up in their index or google painting appliances

Funny you should ask, I just did this last week. My in-laws gave us their stove (they got all stain-less appliances - it looks great!), which is almond. All of our current appliances are white. I bought a special spray paint - appliance epoxy at Home Depot. It looks great. It was pretty easy. We taped off the parts we didn't want painted and we needed only 2 coats. It wasn't difficult at all.

We decided to go this route for now, rather then purchase a new one right now (I hate our current stove). We plan on gutting our kitchen, extending the wall out the front about 8-10 feet, and getting all new cabinets and appliances at this time. So it didn't make sense for us to buy a stove now in white to match our kitchen when we will probably get all stainless steal in a few years.

I was curious about this too. In all honesty, can you tell that it was painted, or does it look totally normal?
