i've been searching the web alot for support for pancreatitis and can't seem to find a good site. long story short on Dec 23rd'05 i was taken to the hospital by ambulance, i thought i was having a heart attack...turns out i had an infected gall bladder and stones that were blocking my duct, after surgery i ended up with severe acute pancreatitis among other complications and have spent a total of eight weeks in the hospital since then, i am home now trying to somehow regain a normal life, which i'm finding extremly hard. i used the wedding forums alot and figured i'd give NWR a shot, can't hurt!!

I am so sorry. My husband had this a few years ago, he was out of work for 2 months. It took them a month to diagnose it, they thought it was a staff infection because he didn't have gallstones and isn't a heavy drinker. They think it was brought on by some bacteria in some Argentinean food he ate at a restaurant with a client.... strange

Even after it took him a few months to get back to normal where he wouldn't be tired easily and weak. He couldn't drink alcohol for a while and had to change his diet.

I hope you feel better soon and I am so sorry you are sick.

i have gotten plenty of info between my docs and the net, what i'm really looking for now is an online support group where i can talk to people who have been through this

DH's father was taken to the hospital yesterday for this. According to DH, he was a heavy drinker. They also said his other organs are inflammed.
