Do most people buy their parents an album? Our parents are generously helping us with the wedding costs. The topic hasn't come up yet, I don't know how our parents feel about it. Are you buying your parents an album, and if so, did they contribute significantly to wedding costs?

Re: Parent Albums?
I think parent albums are a pretty common wedding gift.
We purchased parent albums for both my parents and DH's parents. Neither contributed financially to the wedding (at our request).

Re: Parent Albums?
Our favorite photographer so far is a splurge but we could manage it...but parent albums are 700 each...that just seems insane. I'm wondering if there's some way around this.

Re: Parent Albums?
we have parent albums with our package...even though all parents are not contributing much. but i think its a common thing to do. your photographer seems to be charging a lot for a parent album; i am sure if you get the images on disk you can order an album elsewhere for less.

Re: Parent Albums?
We are planning on making the parents albums on Shutterfly after the wedding. We also purchased personalized frames for them.
We wanted to pay for this wedding ourselves so they are not contributing. These gifts are more of a thank you for just being there for us over the years.

Re: Parent Albums?
Making your own is def. less expensive. Do a search on here for where girls made their albums. There are a few places that are not as expensive. I think one is called picaboo.

Re: Parent Albums?
Our parents are contributing, but I would not say significantly. We are buying them each a parent album as our gift to them.

Re: Parent Albums?
my parents are paying so part of the wedding package I'll probably get them albums but pay for that part as a wedding present. I know FIL will definitely want one. I think it's a nice thing to do. most parents will want to take them to work etc to show off.

Re: Parent Albums?
To help us keep the cost down, we will be making our own parent albums from shutterfly or snapfish. We are getting a CD with all of our pictures on it with a photo release form. Since both of our parents have already been through a wedding once before, they both said they didn't need one, so we are doing shutterfly instead. It is something to consider, but if you are into the idea of parent albums, go for it!

Re: Parent Albums?
we are going to make our own via shutterfly. both contributed but not significantly but they both want/deserve one! we just couldn't afford real ones so we will do it on our own.
