Definitely like the thicker. You could leave the text on the top the way it is... or if you wanted instead of a period, you could do ...

Thicker frame and you could always do the fonts that have all the letters in caps so it won't even matter! lol

Thinker looks more balanced with the width of the picture area and gives you more room for text to be engraved. It also almost invites the viewer to look at the pic.
Thinner looks more business like and feels less warm and inviting.

You could also check out wedding gift frames on etsy and see how they word frames or the grammar they use on them & copy :)
