We are getting both of our parents the parent albums and then we were thinking of getting them nice picture frames to give at the rehearsal dinner. We will probably buy my parents something else as well, but will give it to them privately so as not to insult my FILs. My parents are paying for the bulk of the wedding and they are giving us 2 timeshare weeks and giving us air miles, we may even get 2 free tickets. We really owe them a lot. We're thinking maybe a weekend away at a B&B.
bump...
We are definitely buying our parents their wedding albums. (they are anyway included in our package) - most places are. But if not, I think this is something that a bride/groom 'should' do. Besides this, our photographer includes 'engagement photo shots'. We will be taking these over the summer and giving our parents one of our favorites from these along with a custom frame. It's something we know our parents will like, rather than trying to buy something just to buy something. Other than this, I will probly get something small and personal for Mom and Dad.
I am also getting them their parent albums and I am getting them each a lenox picture frame for the RD. I was also thinking about framing a 'thank you' poem for them.
