Tickets to a broadway play
we were thinking the same thing. For all 4 to go during the time we're on our HM. Either that or GC to The Palms restaurant or something

Re: Parent gifts
we were going to get gift certifs for a restaurant, but his parents want to go to the city, his mom hasn't been there since she was 5 believe it or not. So she's never seen a broadway play. we are going to go in with his parents and go see a play, but my parents go in to the city by themselves, so we'll get them something they can go see themselves.

Wow! I can't believe they gave back their gift. What did you get them if you don't mind me asking and what was thier excuse for giving it back?

Re: Parent gifts
do you typically get your parents a gift if they are paying for your wedding?

Re: Parent gifts
Its generally nice to give something back to your parents- who are making this day possible. but if they havent paid for your wedding- then its nice to give the people who raised you and taught you everything you know a gift as you move onto another phase in your life...
not mandatory- but a very common gesture.

Re: Parent gifts
I hate to say this, but I'm only getting my mother something. She has paid for my gown, and ALL of my accessories, and is planning my bridal shower and BP with my MOH. His parents will get NOTHING. I'm glad he and I agree on this. Don't get me wrong, his parents and I get along VERY well, but they have helped with NOTHING, as far as our wedding.

Re: Parent gifts
We're giving both moms embroidered hankies, both sets of parents lenox double frames, and each dad something small as well. Really, we're not spending more than like $100 for each set of parents since we're paying for the whole wedding. We figured it'd be nice to get them a little something to say thank you for getting us this far

Re: Parent gifts
I plan on getting my mom (the first pic) and my dad a frame that says on the top 'daddys little girl' and on the left is a pic of me as a little girl and my date of birth is engraved under it and on the right is a pic of me grown up (hopfully one in my wedding gown)...engraved with my wedding date on the bottom..
