Um, Maybe a little something....like a gift certificate to a spa or something like that? It doesnt have to be anything spectacular you know? But i think you should give something...especially since you are giving to FH's dad and your parents you know?

I would give her a gift...like a photo frame or something like that. It's always nice to be the 'better' person....even when dealing with jackarses

I agree. Regardless of how much $$ they gave, each of our parents is getting the same gift. I'll probably send something extra separately to my parents for their extra help, but I don't want to make anyone feel bad.

We're giving his parents Mother/Father of the Groom Mugs w/a pound of coffee from DD. FH's parents are divorced. His father gave us $2K towards the wedding. We used it towards our vendors. We are paying for our own Rehearsal Dinner. FH's mother gave us $0 towards the wedding, but I feel we still have to give her something.

FH and I are paying for everything. So we are not giving them anything either. Just the bridal party.

08 Crashing.....
I had to respond to this because my FIL's aren't paying for anything!!! That's right nothing!!!
So they will be getting a picture frame from me....
My parents on the other hand will be getting Precious Moments and a beautiful frame and maybe a gift certificate for dinner....

Re: parent gifts

Giving gifts to the other parents in front of her may come off as petty and obnoxious. I understand you're upset that she's not paying for anything, but she was entitled to make that choice... I wouldn't create any additional drama at your RD over it!

If you give gifts to the other parents and not to her, do it when she is not around. Otherwise, give her something small, too.

I don't see what rubbing anything in her face would accomplish, except making the whole situation more uncomfortable. I would just be the bigger person.

My future in-laws are not paying either, but if I don't having something there, there will be hell!

So I rather pay the money to have peace of mind. FI thinks I shouldn't do a thing, but for me I better.

I bought them from Things Remembered a Frame and the matching photo album. I had them engraved with our names and date (suggested by the sales girl).

Plus they are gettign parent albums from the phtogrpaher. I figure she will put a pick of her and FI in there.

Better safe than sorry!

Re: parent gifts

My FH's parents are not paying for a thing and my parents helped out a lot but I still do whatever I do for one for the other- regardles-- they are his parents and should be treated that way - I don't mean to be harsh I just learned the hard way- even if FH pretends not to care- he probably does.

He cannot help it that she is that way but in the end it is still the woman who gave birth to him and you have to respect that-- I know that it is not easy but trust me in the end your conscience will be clear if you do the right thing and God will reward you- be the better person and hopefully she will follow your example.

Good luck

I would make special trips to visit with each of your sets of parents that are comtributing and give them whatever gift you have gotten them. I would not give out gifts in front of her. JMO.
