Re: Parent gifts
we're thinking a weekend in montauk or a gift certificate to lowes to help them redo their bedroom...
I took one last night and gave a gift certificate to my parents at Christmas.
They have all different types of classes including date nights. We did a steak, roast and chop class last night. We made prime rib with horseradish cream, strip steak w/cabernet butter and stuffed pork chops w/sausage stuffing and fennel tomato sauce and roasted garlic popovers. It was amazing...
I highly recommend it and it's not cheap. About $100 pp but you have a great time, learn alot and have a great meal.
They have two locations, Garden City and Bridgehampton. I think Bridgehampton offers a stay at a bed and breakfast as well.

What about a weekend in Atlantic City? Or one of those night cruises that goes out of NYC?

Re: Parent gifts
We got them two tickets for a 'Connecticut Train Dinner Excursion' through Xperiencedays.com, which I found out about through this board. My dad loves trains, and this is a four course meal served in an old-fashioned train as you go through the Connecticut countryside. It just sounded very romantic and unique... I can't wait to give it to them!

we figured an experience would be a nice idea instead of another dust collector!!!

Re: Parent gifts
well, we're paying for photos, so we're getting them parent albums. i'm also getting each mom an embroidered handkerchief for the RD, and i'm going to wrap a note promising the parent albums inside each one.
