Re: parent gifts
Well, our parents aren't paying for our wedding so I say no. They'll get their albums and I think that's good.

Re: parent gifts
I never considered parents gifts. Honestly I don't think parents expect gifts either. Albums are enough in my opinion. Otherwise it just gets overwhelming.

Re: parent gifts
We are, but both of our parents are picking up the entire cost of the wedding and HM..........so we kind of have to, lol.

Re: parent gifts
Just the albums for them!!! None of the rents are really helping pay for ANYTHING so we arent going crazy buying them gifts

Re: parent gifts
FH's parent gift will be their album and then for mine they will get an album too but since they're paying for flowers and my dress I want to get them a little something extra. I have no idea what though.

Re: parent gifts
my parents paid for the ceremony/reception/my dress and his are just giving us $$. we figured a nice piece of jewelry for the mom's and something suited for the dad's interests. mine's a golfer/his an outdoorsy guy. you don't have to do one, but it is a nice sentiment if they're helping to pay for any part of the wedding. it can even just be something small, i.e. their album. don't do it if you're concerned about budget restrictions or if its last minute or anything.
we got some vases at the lenox outlet on sale - we wanted them to at least have a little something - i know what u mean though...

Re: parent gifts
We're doing parent albums and a nice frame for a larger photo. We also paid for their hotel rooms for the night of the wedding.

Re: parent gifts
My parents are getting albums but I can't really consider that a 'gift' since they are paying for the wedding, which means they paid for their own album lol. So we need to get them something...just dunno what yet. FHs parents are only paying for the RD so we'll get them something small in addition to their album

Re: parent gifts
my parents hate when I buy them anything. So I am going to give them the albums and a nice bottle of champagne. FH and i bought them something small to thank them for hosting the e-party and they were furious at us.
I was also thinking about buying them a new digital camera to use.... IDK
ETA - my parents are paying for the wedding, but we are paying for the albums b/c otherwise its not much of a gift...

Re: parent gifts
IMO if they are not paying for the wedding or contributing to a lot a gift is not necessary

Re: parent gifts
I don't think we are for FH mom. She isn't contributing anything (which is totally understandable bc she doesn't work)
I am getting gifts for my parents (they are paying for most of the wedding fees) and always pay for things for me, insurance, school, etc..)

Re: parent gifts
for my mom and step dad, we got a gift certificate for them to spend a night at their fav bed and breakfast - they gave us a good amt of money towards the wedding, plus my mom bought my dress, veil, shoes, etc.
i wasn't going to get FH's parents anything since they didn't contribute financially or emotionally, but he didn't think it was right that we got my parents something and not his, so we got them a gift card to outback (not nearly as much money as we spent on my mom)

FH's parents are paying for the wedding, so we can't just give them albums. We want to do something special for them but not sure what we are getting them yet.
