We got my parents tickets to a show in Vagas - they are going in Oct. We also got them GC for dinner. His parents a GC for dinner.
You can get them tickets to a broadway show. Maybe even around the holidays, so they can see the show and go to Rockerfellar Center. My brother got my parents an overnight stay at Foxwoods. You can get them a weekend stay out East LI (North Fork), in the fall. Just some ideas.

Re: Parent gifts...help...
I bought two large photo frames that hold about 15 photos each.. they are long (mirror-style) not wide. I am putting pictures of my parent's wedding at the top, then my baby pictures, pictures of me and FH together, and then wedding photos of us. I also put in a copy of the invitation, and a copy of the thank-you with our 'new' last name on it. I'm making a different one for each parent, mom's will have ictures of me, FILs will have pictures of FH as a baby, etc.

My mom is my MOH, so I bought gifts for being in the bridal party, plus I'm getting her a day at the spa that we will do together. His father is also part of the bridal party and has everhting so we are gitting him a very very nice pen. His mother is getting a beautiful statue of Mary because she would love that. (this is all at the rehersal dinner) On the wedding day, we are getting 2 8x10 picture frames (crystal or silver) and putting a copy of a protrait of us for them. They will be wrapped and placed on their tables at the wedding.

I gave my mom and step-mom hankies and wrote the each a poem.
I wrote my dad a poem and framed it.
We gave my MIL a silver perfume bottle and compact mirror that was engraved with 'Mom' and a gift certificate to Outback b/c they just got one near her in VA and she loves it.
All of the dads also got a leatherman (multi=tool) with their names engraved on them. We gave these to all of the groomsmen too.

I got my mom a quilt with some pictures of us on it. It looks like the quilt from Stepmom (the movie). The girl that makes them lives in FL and I found her on weddingchannel.com. I saw a picture of the final one but haven't received it yet - I'm so excited!
We're not sure about the rest of our parents. We didn't order parent albums from the photographer, so we may get them and give them that.

Re: Parent gifts...help...
Since the women (my mom, grandma and step-mom) didn't really want corsages, I planned on getting them each a brooch, or something they could wear at the wedding. I got them things that represented their personalities (Grandma's brooch was pearls and 14k gold, step-mom's was an antique sterling and amber, and I ended up getting my mom a diamond and gold mother/child necklace). My dad got a hankie.
He opted not to get his parents gifts.
Since we're paying for our own wedding, we didn't feel as if this was necessary, it was just something I wanted to do. I did it in private to give me a significant moment with each of them the night before the wedding (we all stayed in the same hotel).
Edited to add: of course they'll get parent albums too.
