I'm with you on this one, really. My Mom was all offended that my Dad wasn't invited to FH's bachelor party. But FFIL wasn't invited, and frankly, it's not my dad's scene. He didn't even go to clubs when he was in college (no really, he told me so, I'm not in denial or anything). ::shrug::

My mom came to my Bachelorette party and she had such a great time kicking back with the girls. I was hysterical luaghing when the stripper came up and started dancing with her. I am so happy she was there. My mom is my best friend and I could not have imagined the night without her!!
For DH's bachelor party, the dads all went out to dinner with the guys and then they went home and the guys went out to party. The dads were happy to have gotten to be a part of the night.

My FMIL was offended she wasn't invited to the BP...are you f'n kddin me??? we went to the Boardy Barn. I find it very difficult to believe she, a 50 year old woman, would have had a good time there. When I spoke to my mother and stepmother (who's close in age to me, don't ask....) they were like no way would we ever want to go to your BP...that's for you and your friends!!!

IMO they don't belong there. - It would be nice to invite them if you're doing dinner or drinks somewhere before hand. - But to the actual NIGHT OUT of partying??? - No. And my mom is awesome and more fun than some of my friends ! - But she'd never expect (or want to be) invited OUT out for that night !!

I don't know what scares me more..

My mom getting drunk with me.. or my dad at the bachelor party with FH..

I asked the best man to include my dad - he's an adult and should be asked. If he's not comfortable, he can say no. I knew they were including FH's dad too, so I felt that mine should be included as well.

My mom would be invited if I were doing a bachelorette, but I'm not.

I think it depends on what you/fh are doing and how your parents would feel about being there.

We are going to the wineries for my party and I told my MOH that I don't want my mom or MIL. I have a great relationship with both of them, but I just feel that I want my friends

I just had a bachelorette party with friends only. I am having another one with my mom, grandma, FMIL, aunts, relatives and friends too. I thought it would just be a dinner... BUT my mom and grandma are insisting on Escapes

this is actually what had brought the topic up,,, b/c my dad told my mother that he didnt really want to go to the BP b/c he didnt want FH to feel uncomfortable.... and then all hell broke loose

That totally sucks.. my dad would never go cause FH is goign to vegas for like 4 friggin days!!

Anyway= what are you doing for yours? Will it be g-strings and mind erasers or dinner and wine???

What about doing a family B- party? Then one with the girls?? Or maybr your mom can leave before the main event????

My mom and FMIL both have stated they would see what we are doing first before they go. But I think they would both go if I asked them to. My parents went down to New Orleans with me and some friends. We ate dinner and went to Bourbon street we didn't get drunk or anything but had fun. I wouldn't feel awkward with them there. JMO

I am a Bridesmaid in September and exactly this situation came up. The bride to be MOH invited her mother but not her FMIL and FMIL is very offended that they didn't include her for the dinner. I think it is nice if you invite them to the dinner with the bridal party and then the moms go back home. And then all the bridal party goes out and have a blast.

so funny...this actually came up this past weekend. we had our bachelor and bachelorette parties, and my dad was apparently upset that he wasn't asked to join the guys on theirs. i didn't have my mom or my future mother in law, and he didn't have his dad. my dad however is not like your traditional father, so he probably would have enjoyed EVERYTHING that they did....and probably would have had his own suggestions towards it. he said him and his friends would have gone all out for it if he had known and been included.
you can't please everyone...who would have thought?!?!?

My friend had her BP and her mom came for cocktails at someones apartment before and then left. They didn't go to a strip club but no one wanted the brides mom to be there. So she was included and then left so that people could let loose later on

I invited my mom - actually my friends requested she be there. Wound up she couldn't make it but wanted to. I didn't do the striopper thing but had drinks, dinner and partying. I did not invite my MIL - that would have been awkward - I got out of it b/c DH had his first and did not invite my dad (but invited his and his dad came for the dinner part) and so I felt since he didn't invite my dad I didn't have to invite his mom.
