If you and your FH are paying for and planning the wedding yourselves, do you still give 'thank you' gifts to the parents?

Re: Parents' gifts?
Are you giving them photo albums and/or copies of the video?

They'll be getting parent albums. That's what the photographer gives you in addition to your album, right?
We're not doing video.

I think not all photo packages come with parent albums.

it annoys me because I know my mom will just flip through our album like a deck of cards and then stick it in a drawer!
What a waste!

Re: Parents' gifts?
I was paying for everything, and I actually did not get parent albums--it made the photography much cheaper. We had albums made for them after using the disk of proofs from the photographer.
I think the album is definitely enough of a present.

Oh, Beth, good idea!
My SIL is an awesome scrapbooker, maybe I'll ask her to help me!

My mom and dad and his parents an't afford t pay, we make more than they do and it would be really unfair of us to ask. That doesn't take away from the fact that they gave us life...so yes, they still get presents!

Re: Parents' gifts?
I don't know your situation, but i look at parents gifts as less of a 'thanks for your money' and more of a 'thanks for being my parent.' They birthed me or FH? They get a thank you...just my two cents.
