Re: Parents Gifts

I wrote something different answering my own gift...LOL sorry....I am not spending a lot of money because they WARNED me not too. Only because me and FH are paying for the wedding and even though parents are helpign a bit they dont want gifts...at least nothing costly...They want us to use any extra money to put towards moving out together and buying things for our home.....My mom and dad would kill me if i spend more than $100 on each of them...seriously...they would be upset....lol

I think it depends on your parents. Mine are kind of like JCC's parents.

They get upset with me when I buy them gifts. In their eyes I'm spending money frivolously.... and to them, sometimes I think is almost as bad as murder.

So I do things for them, like plant their garden, set up their computers, things like that THEY can't really put a money value on and they appreciate it more. Of course they don't think gardeners or computer techs should paid, but thats another story.

I have no clue what I'm doing for them as wedding gifts..

But if I were the parent in question, I'd choose the wine tour!

I am still undecided for myself also.

My parents are helping pay for the wedding so at first I was going to send them to Ireland...funds are a bit low so maybe for their anniversary next year.

So now this is what I have decided:
A weekend away to New Hope Pennsylvania. My mom has always wanted to go there...yet, I don't know much about the area and there isnt much on TripAdvisor about it. SInce this is something for my Mom (Dad will be going also) I may get my Dad a seperate gift that he will enjoy...but to heavy to put in FH's truck, so delivery of it is another issue.

For FH's parents: I think we are going to get them tickets to see a broadway play and dinner. They aren't helping monetarily, but they have helped so much with favors, and all the other little things that we are doing for our guests.

I am interested to hear what other people are doing though.
