just wondering....how involved are your parents (more likely your mother) in the wedding plans and festivities? is she helping with the RH search? dress shopping, etc?

both sets of parents do not help with our decisions....John and I make those..it is our wedding after all. however if we ask their opinions im sure they would give them to us

My parents are very involved as they are paying for everything. They are very supportive and positive. the only vendor they have come with us to is the RH, I wanted their opinion. Everything else, FH and I do the legwork than let them know what we like, then they'll let us know what they think. It's been pretty seamless...

they are not really involved, ive booked most of my vendors on my own, my mother just came with me when i did my initial booking (wanted to get her opinion first) and then she will prob come with me when i try on dresses.

both my parents aren't involved they think that's it's a waste of money. So we do not ask their input.

they're pretty involved.... mamadukes comes with me on a lot of appts and my stepdad always wants updates so im really grateful that they want to be included

FH's mom isn't involved at all. She actually thinks it's ridiculous that we were looking at halls so early. She isn't paying for anything so thats quite fine with me, one less opinion i have to worry about.
My mom came with us to see all of the RH's and will be helping out a little with the finances for the wedding but we will be paying for everything on our own. She will come with me to look at my dress and accessories and thats fine. She will be taking care of the dress costs.
Everything else I THINK FH and i will look at alone. Oh except flowers, FH could care less about them lol. She will probably come to the food tasting also and find 10 things to complain about,
:sigh:: gotta love the typical italian mother.

My mother has gone to every appointment with me along with my sister and has been there when I booked every vendor. Whenever I go to FH's house, I usually give his mother an update on whats been done and whats been booked, when she asks

we are very lucky as well, we were just talking about it again last night...
my parents are paying for the RH, any engagement party stuff, STDs, etc, and all my of clothing/accessories, and his mother is paying for the rest (DJ, photo/video, limo, flowers, etc)
they are coming to shows that they can, of course my mom will be with me at dress shopping, etc, but as far as decisions, its really up to me and FH. so far we've discussed everything with them even though we don't have to. We're not trying to be presumptuous or take advantage.
