ETA: I am pretty sure Paris is showcasing tonight at Russo's! Have you seen them yet? My FH was nearly in tears when we found out they were booked for our date!

Re: PARIS or TIMESQUARE ORCHESTRA!!!!!

Never see TSO but Paris is very good. They have a sort of low-key attitude but still do a great job with getting everyone to dance and enjoy themselves.

Re: PARIS or TIMESQUARE ORCHESTRA!!!!!

I think I saw TSO at Chateau Briand. If they are part of LI Paramount Music then that's who it was. I saw them with Majic who IMO was much better. But it all depends on what type of music you want for your wedding. My FH and I thought TSO sounded too 'Big Band' (old) for our taste. Majic had a more current sound.
As for Paris, never saw them but a friend is using them after her sister had them. She said they're amazing.

Re: PARIS or TIMESQUARE ORCHESTRA!!!!!

No TSO is not part of LI Paramount. They are flying solo. I want club and freestyle along with Sinatra, Italian, etc.

Re: PARIS or TIMESQUARE ORCHESTRA!!!!!

You might want to look into Sound Image, part of Skyline Orchestra. They had a club/dance sound and played stuff I haven't heard many wedding bands play. I loved them but when we wanted to see them a second time at a showcase, they had none scheduled for over a month to come and we didn't want to sit and wait for someone to take our date, which had already happened. We ended up with someone else, but they stick out in my head as being great.

Re: PARIS or TIMESQUARE ORCHESTRA!!!!!

Goldilocks you are NOT thinking of TSO they are on their own and have been -

I would say TSO all the way - they blew everyone else out of the water.

BTW - everytime I tell people who I am using it seems that they have been to a wedding where they have played and LOVE them.

ETD to say they are great at all the genres that they play

Did you ever hear PARIS?

Re: PARIS or TIMESQUARE ORCHESTRA!!!!!

No only because both my FH and I tried to get info and see them but they never returned our many phone calls - but I have met people who have heard both - and like TSO better - BUT I WILL say you HAVE to hear both - bands are a very subjective choice what some people LOVE the other half hate. I don't think you can go wrong with either one though - if you aren't sure go hear them both again

Re: PARIS or TIMESQUARE ORCHESTRA!!!!!

I loved TSO and was going to book them. Then we had to change our date to a Saturdaynight and they were all booked, so we had to find a new band.

Re: PARIS or TIMESQUARE ORCHESTRA!!!!!

Does anyone know if Paris and TSO are having any upcoming showcases? Do you mind FM me? Thanks

Re: PARIS or TIMESQUARE ORCHESTRA!!!!!

I am using TSO also, and they were better than the other 6 bands that I saw. I liked the way they played ALL types of music. They do a showcase at the holiday inn next to the chateu briand in westbury every 3 weeks on a thursday if you want to see them. Good luck!
