For whoever has been to Paris, what did you love the most?

Re: Paris suggestions

We stayed in St. Germain, which is a great area with lots of shopping. We explored the entire city by foot, which believe it or not, I do recommend, because it was such a great way to see the city inside and out. It's a BEAUTIFUL place. You will enjoy it no matter what you decide to do.

Is St. Germain right bank or left? We are staying in the Latin Quarter, is that an ok area? (I just ordered 3 books from amazon so I still don't know the neighborhoods!)

Were restaurants really expensive? When we were in the Riviera sodas were like 5 bucks each.

Hi, going to Paris this weekend for the 3rd time. I love Paris. The latin quarter is supposed to be nice, I have never stayed there. I always stay in the 7th which is near the Eiffel Tower and Napoleans tomb. If you are visiting these sites there is a great cafe for lunch on Rue Cler called Cafe du Marche. Their duck confit is delicious as well as the warm goat cheese salad. Also, great tiramisu. Very cheap. Lunch plates are 8 Euro. It is on Rue Cler at the corner of Champs de Mars.

Restaurants can be very $$$$ but there are many that are reasonably priced. Most of the ones I have been to have been in the 7th. Take advantage of subway system. It is great and easy to use. Also, if you plan on visiting Versailles. Definitely buy the musuem pass, it is worth it because you won't have to wait on the huge line to get in. It also gets you to the top of the Arc de triomphe and the musuems.

If you want some specific restaurant recommendations, let me know. I will be happy to pass on some of my favorites. Most are under 125 Euro including apps, dinner, dessert and a bottle of wine.

The Eiffel tower! The best view I have ever seen. The food, pastries and wine were the best!
