Parking fee
ok so I think I found a place to have engagement party but there is a parking fee of 6.00 per car.. now.. is it bad to have people pay for that.. or do I have to pay for that for everyone.. I am inviting aroun 100-150 people.. so if I pay for it , it will add up to like 450.00 or so.. more than the fee for the place.. iI need opinions? what do u guys think?

Re: Parking fee
I know its a lot, but i think you should pay for it. Maybe you can negotiate a deal with the place ahead of time?

Re: Parking fee
I guess I'd be kind of surprised to show up somewhere and have to pay, even though per car it's not that much of a cost. I def see how it would add up for you to pay the entire amount. I'm sorry I'm not giving a direct answer but I'm sure it will work out date twin!!!

Re: Parking fee
I would try to negotiate with them. If they aren't accomodating than I would look for another place...that's a lot of money for parking!

Re: Parking fee
I def. think you should pay. You never know, you may be able to talk them down- even to $5 a car!

Re: Parking fee
I recently went to a wedding where they had a paid lot...and my immediate reaction was that I was really P.O.'d and I felt like I was getting ripped off.Turns out the parking was free for the wedding...but that was my initial reaction so I thought it might help

Re: Parking fee
i would be a little surprised (unpleasantly lol sorry to be so blunt) if i had to pay as a guesteta: thats what the carltun does, charges you extra for valet, which is seriously crap

Re: Parking fee
I think unfortunately that you should probably foot the bill. Try and talk them down though. Or ask if you could somehow be charged afterwards so that way you are only paying for cars that actually come instead of guestimating. And maybe tell your immediate family and BP what is going on and maybe try and encourage them to carpool?

Re: Parking fee
I would be surprised upon arriving, but I wouldn't mind THAT much. You can always make it eco-friendly and tell people to car pool (since, according to the LI Weddings homepage green is the new black
)

Re: Parking fee
I would be a bit taken back, and somewhat annoyed. I have no problem tipping a valet attendant, b/c that would be expected, but I wouldn't expect to pay for parking at a party I was invited to.JMO.

Re: Parking fee
Why not talk to the place and work out a set price. Negotiate! :)

Re: Parking fee
Try to negotiate with the place...if they wont budge you should pay for everyone's parking (If i was a guest somewhere and had to pay $6 to park my own car I would be a bit angry...)

Re: Parking fee
I would be quite pissed and find my own spot outside to park my car- it's not about the money- it's the principle. If it were my guests (knowing FH's fam) they would be fuming because it should be included... If the place doesnt work something out for you then maybe you should pick up the tab. JMO JMO

Re: Parking fee
Thanks so much for the help.. I spoke with FH.. and we decided as annoying as it is.. we are goin to pay for all the parking. he didnt think it was that big of a deal to pay for everyone, but we are definately goin to have to negotiate the price!!! I know its the right etiquette.. I just find it crazy that parking is more then the fee for the place, lol!!!!
