Party Favors
If you are going to give party favors-try to give something that people will use or eat and not something that is going to go in their garbage because they don't appreciate your taste. Otherwise it doesn't seem worth it to spend between $100-$500. We gave everyone a gold picture frame with their seating card in it at the reception.

Party Favors...so confused!!
I am so confused about favors and can't make a decision!! My fiance told me he doesn't care anymore about what I pick and doesn't really want to hear about it :( I don't want to give chocolate, (only to the kids) and I don't want something that will just sit on the shelf w/ no purpose. So I'm struggling with: -personalized CDs (more work for us) -heart-shaped cookie cutter w/ recipe card -flower seeds w/ poem on package -bookmarks w/ poem -picture frames for seating card and favor They are all less than $2.00 each + ribbon. This is exactly the kind of stuff that I did not want to make a big deal out of before I got sucked into the whole wedding planning thing!!

Party Favors
Brides/grooms are going to pick what they like and think their guests will think is neat as well. I know you mean well by your post, but frankly your gold picture frame would go into my trash can, as you said. You can't predict what 100+ people will want to put on a shelf.

If I get one more picture frame....
with the seating card in it, I'm going to scream! My fiance's brother is making wine for us, so we are giving that with a personalized label. Lisa

Make it work for you!
Don't stress too much about what everyone will like. Try to choose something you and your close friends would enjoy that is not overdone! Im giving away framed B/W photos of NYC b/c its never been done before (in my circle) and works with my decor. Like everything else, you won't be able to please everyone - try to pick something you will be happy with.

Question on CD's
If I were to make my own CD's as favors, how much would the CD's and cases cost?

I guess the picture frame idea is out....
We did the personalized CD`s. My wedding was almost a year ago and alot of our guests had not seen cd`s as a favor before (although lord knows I didn`t invent the concept!) It was a bit of work but my husband & I enjoyed doing it. They were definitely a big hit. I think the chocolates are a great idea too. Everything else is very subjective. Who knows who will plant seeds, like a picture frame style, use a cookie cutter...but so what? If you put your heart into it, that`s all that matters. It`s your wedding, if you want to do something, do it. If you want to analyze what is a 'waste of money', you could start ripping apart the cost of everything related to your wedding. Isn`t it crazy to pay that much money for one day?? Only if you look at it like that. So try not to stress yourself out over the wedding favors. All your ideas sound cute, whatever you go with will be perfect. Enjoy!

Question on CD`s --- check comp usa
Check out comp usa, they are having mail in rebates on cd's with cases and I want to say the price gets down to $20 for 100, maybe less! Then it's just getting the labels and inserts, I am really not sure of the price of those, but I imagine it's about $35-50 for a 100 pack.

Question on CD`s --- check comp usa
I see the CD`s so inexpensive everywhere. Check out Staples & Target too. I remember getting the jewel cases at Staples $10.00 for 25. Avery has a label set that is jewel case inserts and the labels for the CD`s. I think a box of 50 of each was $20 each at the time. It also came with the software to print everything up.

Question on CD`s
Sometimes Costco or BJ's sell a case of them for a good price. You can also get them in an assortment of colors.

CD Favors Breakdown
My fiance and I are doing CD`s. It was a lot of fun choosing songs-although it wasn`t as much fun when one of us loved a song and the other one didn`t like it at all...but that only happened with two songs. I know if you get the slim-line cases it`s cheaper for the case itself and you don`t have to pay for inserts. I wanted the look of a CD you would buy in the store so we spent more money on the cases. Here`s our breakdown. We will burn 150 CDs. We`re hoping we will have around 200 guests. Roughly it comes out to $2 a CD. Hope this helps. White CD/DVD Labels (Avery)(40 disc labels 80 spine labels)$14.00 Sony CD`s 79 min. (50 in a pack)$29.99 CD jewel cases- 10 pack $2.99 Inserts $15 for twenty We ordered from outpost.com and staples.com

How long does it take? CD Favors Breakdown
Depends on the speed of your burner and the amount of songs you have. We had 22 songs on each CD (72 minutes) and I can`t recall the speed of the burner but it took appx. 20 minutes per CD. If you are home for the evening, you can get quite a few done per night. Have the jewel cases handy so you can put the copies right into them.Welcome New Vendors
