Party Place IDeas ? (Queens or Nassau preferred)

We're looking to throw my mom a big bday bash.
Since most of my family is in Queens, we'd like to stick to the Queens/Nassau border.

We've got picky Italian eaters, so you know the deal. Id like a place with room to socialize, not necessarily a dance floor, but that would be good too. I hate parties where you sit and eat dinner only and remain in that seat all nite .

We've been to Giardino's in Douglaston, LOVE their food, but their room is a little small. (unless they've expanded?).

Any suggestions? Not too expensive, will probably be late October.

Thanks!

Melissa, funny you said that, I wanted to check them out. I was there for a shower a few months ago. DELICIOUS! and gorgeous place!

Thanks for the added idea, Sue !

How about Carasello's (lower priced) or Matteo's (mid-priced) in Howard Beach?

One of my favorite italian restaurants is Ponticellos on Bell Blvd in Bayside. Its a small restaurant but they close for private parties. Top notch food & ambiance.

Anna, I don't have any other suggestions, but just wanted to let you know that Giardino's has not expanded. I think they re did it, but it's not bigger. They still have the same 2 rooms for parties. Christine (Rob Luvs Me) and I were there for lunch today.

I second Il Sapore. That's where I had my shower and it was great.
