Pashmina's

Since my wedding is in October and it could get a little chilly at night I was thinking of doing a pashmina basket for the women guests. Has anyone done this before? Was it a hit? Also any one know websites that sell pashmina's in bulk for cheap! Thanks!!!!

Re: Pashmina's

Ive never seen that done, well not for all the female guests. Ive seen brides give their BM's pashmina's as a gift. The cheapest ive heard of them is in the city when you buy them on the street for $5 each. HOw many guests are you having?

I would say that you wouldnt have to buy THAT many bc whenever i go to weddings, especially if its a bit chilly out, i ALWAYS bring a pashmina with me to have inside, and I see a lot of other women do this too.

Re: Pashmina's

I've seen a few of the brides do that from Project Wedding. Most of the time, the basket is put out for the ceremony. I'll be giving my bridesmaids pashminas, since April is so fickle.

There is a vendor on Ebay called Foreverwear, Peachcouture.com, Chinatown in Manhattan or midtown to about 59th St on the west side there are some good street vendors you can usually get them down to about $4/pashmina.

Re: Pashmina's

I think its a great idea.
I am thinking of actually putting pashminas at the table i.e. draped on the chairs to decorate the backs of the chairs as well.. and the pashminas will then serve as favors for the woman to take home at the end of the night.

I need to venture to c hina town to see if i can get it cheaper in bulk down there ,, streetvendors have them for 5 bucks by my office (40th and 5th)

Re: Pashmina's

Yes I was def thinking of going into the city in chinatown or near midtown they have on the street by my job.

Do you think you should get 1 for every female guest or just maybe half the # of female guests? I just hope they get used... wondering if it would be a waste. Maybe a basket of pashmina's and a basket of flip flops/slippers?

like i said, i dont think you will need 1 for every female guest, but if its a favor then yes i would. If its an extra like slipper baskets are thats when you dont need it for everyone. BUt then again even if someone comes with a pashmina they can take these and just use it for another time. Its up to you

Re: Pashmina's

My cuz did this with all the female guests as an extra gift. The waiters handed them out and they were wrapped in white tissue paper like a candy.

I think it is a cute idea. Def check out the city bc I have seen them for $4 each maybe if you buy in bulk they can give it to you for $3

Re: Pashmina's

I dont know if you come to Brooklyn at all but there is a store on 86th street and 4th ave going out of business and they have pashmina's for either $3 or $4 and they have SOOO many nice ones. Plain and the printed ones are very pretty too.
