Passport Changes?

I just saw this on the Sandals site... I don't have a passport and I didn't know this! Am I the only one?

Please be advised that the Passport requirements for U.S. Citizens to re-enter the country from the Caribbean is changing. Effective December 31, 2005 all U.S citizens traveling into the United States from the Caribbean must have a valid U.S. passport.

this was just approved last month or so

they were tryign to get this passed for this year but they coudlnt get it done

I went to Mexico in November and used my birth certificate and now have to get a passport for my HM. Wow it is $97!

Seem like a lot of money but you will use it in the future. What if you need to leave the country really quickly Or someone offers you a free trip to Paris and you need to leave in the morning??

BTW: I have a very active imagination.

I'm not sure. I've always used my passport. This past February Fh and I went to Sandals Whitehouse, when we planned the trip last July, I made him get a passport to be on the safe side.

If you have time, I'd get it just incase, it's probably a good thing to just have
