passport HELP! UPDATE: he was JK!!!!!

I KNEW IT!!!!!!!!!

Well, he was just kidding and he wanted to see me in person to see how mad i got and to see if I would say 'I told you so'

Well, I took the opposite approach. I was so sleepy so I couldn't wait up for him to come home - instead, I called him up and told him that I called the travel agent and she told me about hte emergency passport office that you girls actually told me about. And then I VERY calmly explained that we could push the HM back to March so we could be sure he would have it and everything would be okay and it wasn't his fault.

HA HA he was like OK well I wanted to wait to see you in person but i was JUST KIDDING - wasns't that funny? SO i said Um good night. . . .and I think I am going to punch him in the face when I see him.

Okay so sorry if I freaked anyone out and THANK YOU to everyone that took the time to help me.



PS - the man said he should get it by September!

ok as you can tell by the double post i am upset.

I have been BUGGING FH to get his passport since we got engaged. . . - we have fought about it over twenty times. . . i mean walking out of the house, screaming, ugly cry fights because he is lazy and hasnt gone

he goes today and he calls me and says that the guy told HIM that he MAY or MAY NOT get it by JANUARY.

and that it costs $500 to expedite it so he thought it was too expensive

now, before i totally freak out on him. I thought ' if this was true there is no way he would tell me AND he would have just paid and never told me a thing'

but i called him back THREE times already - the last time almost in tears and he SWEARS it is true.

What do you girls think?

He will definetly have it by January, the longest I have ever heard is 6 months, don't stress

HONESTLY, I don't think there'll be a problem. NY seems to be on top of shiit. JFK is a HUGE international airport, there are foreign-owned businesses all over Manhattan and Long Island, we have a bazillion international travelers leaving from here. Don't sweat it!

i have been telling him to go since we got engaged in 2005 to go

regardless, his passport will be here in time. ONLY because you're a good catholic and God would hate for you to screw up, kill your FH and wind up in hell.

Honestly $500 imo isn't worth paying to rush it. I had rushed mine at the post office and got it in less than three weeks and only paid $50 more.

He'll get it in time- don't stress.

i was told the other day that several locations will not be requiring a passport within the next 6-9 months b/c of the back log.
i'll try to find that info for you.

try not to freak out about it, the longest anyone i know has waited was 5 months.

Ok thats really excessive. I feel like they just want the money. It took mine 6 weeks a few years ago. Don't get upset.

thanks i needed to not take myself so seriously for a second!

i jsut called my friend who was a TA and SHE said that you can go into the city a few days before and get one on the spot if you are leaving in a few days - so i mean i hope i wont have to do that BUT it is good to know that just in case . . . that is an option.

but he will be standing in THAT line all alone thankyouverymuch!

ALSO worst comes to worst what you do is when you get your tickets, and its two weeks before the HM just schedule an appointment at the passport agency in the city theyll give him a date and you get it the same day and its $95, ive done this twice, actually its the only way i went about getting one, i had one as a kid but i dont remember much from that.

the most it takes is 12 weeks - we're getting married right after you and FH isnt doing his papers until july when he's on vacation

i wouldnt worry

other places will charge more to expedite, but its less expensive this way

I heard its only 6-10 weeks .. your fine! we haven't gotten ours yet, because we just moved up the date, but I called today and they said we have time, soo don't be upset hun!
