When you apply for your passport, do you just have to show them your birth certificate, or do they hold on to it and return it with your passport when they're done processing it? I ask because we have to go apply for our passports, but I also need our birth certificates for the marriage license and to travel on our HM thanks to the new regulations.
You have to send in your birth certificate with your passport. I would double check w/them that you'll get it back in time to get your marriage license. I think even then though they are running WAY behind because of the amount of people that have applied.

You have to give them your birth certificates to get a passport. There's a chance you won't get it back before the wedding. Make some copies before you send them.
I applied for my passport 16 weeks ago and I finally got them in the mail today. I was getting worried because I need it to get my marriage license and they had my b-cert.
