Past brides

If you had to plan ur wedding all over again what would you change? Would you have a destination wedding or reception hall?

You definitely will be singing a different tune!

Dh and I said we wished we went to city hall a MILLION times the few weeks before the wedding. NOW, Dh remarked the other night that he could not think of a single thing about the wedding that he would've changed. Neither can I for that matter. I'm SO happy we had the wedding we had- despite the money, the tears, the stress, the fights- it was all worth it!

i'm not a past bride but if i could re-do the planning, i'd book an RH that had a maximum num of people allowed so that FMIL wouldn't have the option of inviting so many semi-random people.

i'd also do more research about certain things (like the awful store i bought my gown at)

and lastly, i'd try getting an RH that provides a package of the food, DJ, and flowers (this kind of ties in with the thing i said about having a max num of people allowed at the RH)

Re: Past brides

i LOVED my wedding day and would absolutely be happy as anything to do it all over again just the way it was but if i had to choose a few things to change, this is what i would do

i loved my reception hall, it was really perfect but i still have regret not looking at more because i always wanted an outdoor cocktail hour and didnt have it. just think i should have taken more time so i wouldnt think that i missed something.

for the same price as a sunday, i would have a friday so that people would drink and be able to stay late and have an after party. ( i had a sunday so the bp didnt have to take off of work but i just wish people had stayed later)

maybe wouldve chosen 1 or 2 vendors differently but not even really, im pretty happy

i LOVED my dress more than anything in the world but it was the second dress i bought. i rushed into buying the first one

i wouldnt have gone to ch...we always said we wanted to but then we didnt even get to enjoy it and only said hi to half of the people so still had to go around during the reception so it was a waste and i wish i couldve had the downtime just hanging out with the bp in the bridal suite

i wouldve spent more time thinking about our cake design (loved the inside though)

eta: i think i still wouldve had a reception hall here in ny. i love the tradition of getting married at a church or temple, etc. and then taking a limo to your reception hall. going to take pics, etc.
