Past Brides.. anything you spent WAY too much on and wasn't worth it?
Original post by AugustFeather
Just curious if any Mrs. out there have some advice on something they splurged on that wound up not really being worth the time/cost/stress?
TY!

Not married yet, but I absolutely don't regret splurging on my invites. I originally said I was not going to spend a lot and was going to make them myself. Then I went the opposite direction and had them custom designed by *her*.
I cannot believe the compliments I have gotten on them. I was at a wedding yesterday and people did not stop coming up to me to tell me how unique and gorgeous my invitations were. People can't get over them.
I also think it's good because it sets the tone for the wedding. The wedding we went to yesterday was the last wedding in the family before ours and it could not be more opposite in tone, formality, scope, etc. I'm especially glad I got invitations that really set the tone for the wedding so people really understand that ours is a formal, elegant affair.

There isnt really anything I did for my wedding that was not worth the price. From the very beginning I decided what was important to spend on and what was not. DH and I hate watching ourselves on video so we went with a basic video package, we had food and candy bar at the end of the night which served as our favor.
If anything, I probably did not need a DOC afterall, the event coordinators provided by my RH did everything all night long and the day/night ran smoothly. But she was inexpensive anyway. So it did not impact our bottom line.
To address the NW board comments - that board is there for us to chit chat about life post-wedding. Many of us planned our wedding for 1.5+ years and need a break from wedding talk. We are all happy to help answer questions, and when we are feeling in a 'wedding mood' will venture over to BHB.
