Past Brides - Guestbook

For those of you who had a guestbook, was it worth it? For those of you who did not, do you regret it?

If I get one I want to do the photo guestbook or sign in board, but I just don't know if it is worth the extra $$$

I didnt have a book and dont regret it because I know it would get shoved in a drawer somewhere and most guests dont end up signing it anyway..I wanted to have the photo sign in board and didnt get around to that, which I regret because thats something I think I would've actually looked at and probably hung up in our place.

My $50 guestbook was not worth it. I just HAD TO HAVE the extra space for guests to write their 'message'.

Water was spilled on it, and it had to be aired out for a few hours. I'd say that only 40% of my guests got to sign it. Out of those, only VERY FEW wrote a message- most just signed their names.

I would recommend getting an inexpensive set. I saw a guest book with matching pen set at the Hallmark store for $20.

Didn't use one, don't regret it. I have kept all the cards and those are what I will use to remember the day. I think if people were going to write personal notes, they did it in the cards for just our eyes.

Just a thing to remember, if you do the photo guestbook, you will have to assign someone to do the job of getting people to take photos. Those of us in the midst of wedding planning hear about all these wonderful things, but the average person has no idea that you want them to take a photo for the guestbook - some people don't even know what to do with the table cameras unless they are told explicitly.

I had a regular guestbook and a lot of people didn't even take the time to sign it. It's nice to look through but I was definately expecting a lot more people to sign it then did.
