Past brides just wondering did you get toasted on your wedding day?
Also for the ones that are getting married soon, will you have just a few drinks or none at all?

Will not get drunk...from what I understand you couldn't if you wanted to....people pull you in every which way...there is just no time. I will have a few drinks though

i barely drank anything! just some water and diet coke. i didnt want to have to use the bathroom too much. and there was so much going on that i really wasnt thirsty or hungry all day and night.

I am going to try and have a few, but its so true what they say that you have no time to get tipsy. At my engagement party, I spent so much time talking to everyone and thanking them for coming I think I was the only sober one at the end of the night.

I tried but I just couldn't do it.
Every time I came back to the dais, my glass was full again. I found out it was the bridal assistant who would run over every time I got up and get me a fresh drink.
I don't know how much I drank, but it wasn't enough to get me drunk. Then again, my sister, husband and Maitre D were shoving plates in my hand throughout too. If I hadn't eaten, I might have felt tipsy.

I don't think that I am going to drink much at the reception only because I think FH and I are going to be so busy that night, however I definitely plan on 'partying' in the limo and bridal suite!!! I don't plan on getting drunk, but I hope to have a happy buzz.

I only had our champagne toast...I wanted to have a drink but I was not feeling good & had not eaten in 3 days due to the flu. But truly I was enjoying my wedding on the dance floor most of the night!!!

I had one glass of wine to calm my nerves...from there on out I think the only drink we had afterwards was our champagne toast....oh and we sampled our signature drink too.

I am a HUGE drinker, so I drank alot. I was not drunk though. DH was blasted, but he is a funny drunk so I did not care. He had a great time. Most of my BP & guests are drinkers though, so I guess I just assumed that people would get *happy*

I had one drink at my reception. I really wasn't interested in getting drunk.
My cousin got completed wasted for her wedding. They left the following morning for Hawaii and she got quite ill on the plane. The bridal party had been drinking heavily BEFORE the ceremony.

I sure tried to but it didn't work. I stuck with champagne all day because #1 it's clear and bubbly so I knew it wouldn't stain my dress that badly if someone knocked into me or I just got clumsy and spilled. And #2 because the bubbles go right to my head and I get loopy really quickly from it. But it didn't work. I drank so much of it but I think because of all the adrenaline and because I danced so much, it just left my body as soon as I sipped it down. It just wouldn't stick to me, you know? My husband drank vodka tonics all night and he couldn't catch a buzz either.

My brother and SIL got married almost 2 years ago and to this day, my brither says he doesn't remember a thing from his wedding day and neither can she b/c they were so drunk by the end of the night! They live through their video to recollect what happened.
Based on this, FH and I decided not to drink - I'd rather have water anyway, so I don't have to worry about going to the bathroom in my dress!

I only had about 2 glasses of champagne and then one mixed drink. The rest of the night I drank soda, and then had tea with my cake.

i am a huge drinker as well, but i do not want to get drunk at the wedding. i drank a lot at my eparty, b/c i was so nervous, so i hope the same thing doesnt happen at the wedding.

Nope. I didnt want to. I had a some wine in the limo and a few drinks during the reception, but I never got to finish a whole drink. I kept taking one or two sips and walking away.
I wanted to remember every detail of my wedding day. I wasn't totally abstaining from alcohol, but I also didn't want to get too tipsy either.

Same here, I drank our whole bottle of champagne by myself and had a dirty martini as well as other drinks......nothin!!!!
