past brides without a wedding video

Did you regret not getting a wedding video?

I'm really torn. I don't think I'll watch it more than once, and I really don't have the money for the extra expense, but it seems like every bride I talk to who had a video was really happy she had it.

No video and no regrets! Maybe have a friend/relative shoot a few important parts for you to put on DVD and have as a keepsake.

Honestly I wouldn't watch a video more than once, and most ppl I know spent a ton of money on theirs and they're not even that good.

You may still be able to find someone -- granted its just around the corner. Or get someone (family or friend) to shot a video on there home camera and you can have a video company put it together.

I honestly had a video camera and used it a few times on vacations and family get to gethers.....and NEVER seen any of the videos.

Pictures are my favorite Its easier to show off and I can bring them along with me.

BTW you can also make a vidoe with the pictures you shot during your wedding!!!

i did get a video because i didn't want to regret .... i don't regret getting it, but i also wouldn't have really cared if i didn't get one.

one thing that's good about video - being the bride & groom, there's A LOT you miss (like watching the BMs walk down the aisle, entrances into the RH, cocktail hour, etc) ... having video fills in some of those blanks.

DH and I watched our video once but my mom has watched it about 10 times already (she's soooo happy we paid for video)

As a kid I used to watch my mom's wedding video all the time and we recently watched it as a family. I think it's something important to have to show your kids..

We're trying to find someone cheap, I'm meeting with someone on Tuesday that's only $750 for 2 videographers and 3 edited DVD's, full day coverage...

I don't know how good he is yet but I will let anyone who wants to know how it goes after Tuesday. Hope my input helps!!

Thanks guys! I have a video camera as well, and I hardly ever use it and NEVER look at home videos. That's why I'm kind of reluctant to shell out the extra $$$

maybe get two friends to film with a couple of flip video cameras and then get a film student to edit it for you?

I have to say I was thinking that I didnt want nor need a video.

But at the last min I was SOOOO happy we did it. Yes, we have only watched the video once so far.

But it had things we didnt see all night, and really kept the memory of the night.

I'm SO glad we did it.

I didnt wnat one but then I realized some of the most important people in my life will not be here forever and I want more then a picture to remember them by. Especially my grandma's.

I also want to see what I missed or things I forgot about by the excitement of the day. Def for me worth the money we are spending on it.

Honestly, we watched our video once and will probably never watch it again. If I could go back, I would’ve skipped it and saved the $$.

I didn't have a videographer. Though I did have a friend film the entire ceremony though on my flip. Turned out great. If I had the money, maybe, but because we were on a budget, this is something I decided to skip. No regrets here.

No pro video and no regret! My dad used his Flip for our ceremony and got short clips throughout the reception! I am VERY thankful to have our ceremony on video - I've watched it A BUNCH in the past month that we've been married!

We chose not to have video just because we really weren't into it. I simply can NOT wait to get our pro-proofs/pics! We really invested a lot into our photography as it was one of the most important things for us!

Anyone have any flip video online? How was the quality?

Thanks so much for your answers, although I'm probably more confused now than when I began!

No regrets at all...

honestly I can't watch myself on videos and I wouldnt want everything from my wedding on the video (Like Chocolate spilling all over my dress or the DJ ruining the entrance and speeches) and plus the album I got is beautiful so I'm completely happy just having that

HTH!!
