Can anyone tell me what the process is with Duet for picking out the picture to use in the 'thank you' cards? How long after you get your proofs and select the picture to use did it take for you to get your thank you cards back? Given how long it has taken to get the proofs from them, I'm debating skipping ahead and getting my thank yous out. But that bothers me, because I paid for them and want them. Sigh. Any information would be very helpful... thanks!

Great question.....I was wondering the same thing. It took an additional 3 weeks for them to mail my proofs when I was told they were ready 4 weeks after my wedding.
I just found it to be a hassle dealing with them bc I am OOT and contemplate skipping thank u's also.

I'm getting very nervous. Before I booked Duet, all I heard on this site were great things about them, but ever since we signed with them, I've been hearing negative things

Both of us are OOT so dealing with them since the wedding has been a little difficult. So I doubt you will have the problems we're having.

I am a past Duet bride. In my case I am fortunate and haven't experienced any of the issues the other ladies have. I had all of my wedding proofs back about one month after our wedding.
As the other ladies have said, their delays could be due to the fact they are out of town and I am in NY. Sometimes you just need to keep following up and calling (not emailing) Nicole because they seem to have gotten extremely busy lately.
We just picked up our thank you cards this past weekend (I was married late July) but they were ready and waiting for us as of last week. Please note that any delays was OUR fault, not Duet's. DH and I took FOREVER to pick out a pic and were lazy in letting Nicole know which one we wanted to use for the thank yous.
I believe from the time I called Nicole with the number of the proof we picked and the time she called me to tell me they were ready, it took just over 2 weeks for them to be done. IMO, not a long time at all

Felicia, what do they look like? For some reason, I never asked to see a sample when I met with them. Is it just a wallet size picture in a card? Or was it customized?

Funny you say that -- I never asked them to show me a sample either. That is, until the day I went in to pick up my wedding proofs and I asked Nicole about it.
Yup , it is the standard thank you card you've seen a million times. A wallet size pic inserted into a card. Not exactly original, but since it was included in the package I just went with it. I just couldn't justify spending any extra month desiging a different thank you card at this point or taking more time to do so, either.

I also don't live on LI so the thought of having to go out to LI back and forth to pick up the proofs and the thanks you doesn't sound like fun! Plus I don't really love the picture thank yous soo much and I feel as though it is going to take too long to get them!

Oh how I can totally relate to this!
Even though I'm not 'out of state' and not having the problems the out of town girls are having, we do live in Westchester and it isn't convenient for us to get back/forth to LI to pick up the pics/proofs as often. I was about to forgo the entire picture thank you idea myself (just as not to have to schlep back to LI again and again) but DH thought we should get what we paid for. I wanted to have them out in less than 3 months and I'm just about at that point, so I'm writing them as we speak As I said, if you pick out a proof quick enough they'll get the cards back to you in a short amount of time. It was my 'Mea culpa' for taking one month to let them know our pic

You should always see who is posting the negative remarks. When reading them, I always notice who is posting. So far, my experience with them has been wonderful. And as far with any vendor, everyone's experiences are always different. As long as your experience with them, it's good....I wouldn't worry and their work is good. I also think that many vendors will pose as newbie brides as DUET might be taking their business away so what a better way to mess up their reputation. I saw their work at their studio and seen their work posted by other brides on here and so far, I'm a happy camper with my decision.

well.. I'm not a competitor posing as a newbie, I promise!
I spoke to Nicole today, and she indicated that it should take about 2 weeks for the thank you pictures once my husband and I pick the proof we want to use.
By the way, she was urging me to get my proofs back to her quickly because I think they are worried that they are going to get crushed by brides who got their proofs and sat on them for 3-4 months suddenly wanting to get their albums done in time for the holidays. She indicated it would take about 3 months to put the album together once they had the proofs. . . is that about right?
