Were you able to taste samples of the cake? I recently got a letter from EW asking me to just check off what kind of cake I wanted. I'm already bummed out that EW doesn't offer a tasting for the menu - now we don't get one for the cake either?? And how do we tell them what we want it to look like then!! TIA!

To taste the cake, you have to go to the actual bakery which is The Rolling Pin bakery. Just call them and say you would like to do a cake tasting and that you're getting married at the East Wind. I believe the first two combinations of cake and filling are free and then it's $2 each after that. Just give them a few days notice.
You'll discuss cake design at I think the next to last meeting you'll have at the East Wind (the one where you get you're homework for seating charts, etc.) You can choose from the designs they have our bring your own idea. I brought in an idea from a cake I had seen at a showcase and to do the work on the cake was an extra $250.
