any recent Fox Hollow brides care to share their review? or can someone bump theirs if they wrote one? At under 3 weeks left, I'd like to know if there are things I need to watch out for and let my DOCs know about. I've looked at the reviews in The Bride's Review but I figured there might be people who didn't want to post a full review but have some advice they could share.

I was just in my best friend's wedding there, so although I was not a bride, I can tell you what I saw and some of her issues.

From the bride's view:
1. Make sure there is actually food in your bridal suite. They only had drinks (one bottle of wine, one bottle of sparkling water, and one bottle of champagne).
2. Make sure the bridal attendant they give you actually knows how to do a bustle. Hers was clueless.
3. In her experience, FH did not work very well with any vendors that were not on their 'recommended' list. They actually had her photographer and videographer waiting in the lobby for almost an hour, while we were in her room getting dressed. While I was calling them to see where they were, they were in the lobby the whole time. When she confronted FH about that, they said they weren't 'recommended' so they couldn't do anything.

From a guest's point of view:
1. Personally, I thought the service was horrendous. One waiter for each table, and no offer at all to do drinks. On top of that, after speaking to people at 10 of her 12 tables, it seemed the waitstaff did not speak english (I thought it was just our table). I asked how the chicken was prepared and was told 'yes, it's chicken' 3 times until I gave up and ordered the steak. My fiance asked for milk for his coffee and was told he could probably find it himslef on another table. Worst part was the dessert...we were up dancing, and apparently, if you weren't actually at your seat, you didn't get served dessert. We received no dessert (not even the cake), and when we asked, we were told that it was already put away in the kitchen. Needless to say, we did not tip out our waiter at the end of the night.
2. We found that her outdoor cocktail hour was way too dark. It started at 8:30pm (she had a ceremony there first), and we could hardly see what we were eating. Also, not enough food was prepared. To run out of meat at the carving station after 15 minutes is unacceptable.
3. I also was unhappy with her maitre de. I actually had to ask him to stop calling us 'mommis and poppis'. I think he thought it was cute, but it was not.

I honestly believe that we had just an 'off' night there. I've heard wonderful things about the FH (although this was my first time there), so I know this can't be the norm. Just as you asked, I just wanted to let you know what to watch out for, to make sure these things don't happen to put a damper on your day in anyway. Hope this helps a bit!

I searched Bride's Review for Fox Hollow and these came up. All within the past year...

Overall I was very happy with the service we received at Fox Hollow. The day of, our maitre'd and bridal attendant were great. She was always making sure we had drinks and tryig to make us eat, and helping with my dress.
Our guests raved about the room and the food.

There were only two things that I would mention to potentially look out for.
1) My cousins told me that their waiter tried to take a few plates away before they were finished. They were talking and I guess he assumed they were done.
2) Not many people signed our guest tree, and I think this was due to FH placing it by the cocktail hour entrance. I understand that this is where the guests flood into the room from, but it was facing to the reception room so it would be harder to spot coming in from the CH room. I would recommend just really going over with them where you want specific things placed.

Good Luck!

Lboogie- Do you know who she had as a maitre'd? I want to be sure I don't get him.

I'll have to ask her his name, but she's away right now for 2 weeks. I'll post as soon as she gets back.

I had my ceremony and reception in the Somereley.
Our Maitre D was basically non existent (i don't even remember his name). The bridal attendant did everything he should have been doing and everything she does, so she was excellent. She always made sure my husband and I were good and had a drink in our hands at all times. If she is still there, her name is Renee.

Other than that, everything went well, food was excellent, they served the imported beer we brought in, and they made sure all my other instructions were executed.
