Pasta during main course

Pasta during main course

Do you think we really need to add the pasta with the main course? There's so much food as it is, but I'm not sure. They're charging an extra $2 pp. I tried to get the caterer to throw it in and he said he couldn't, which I find hard to believe.

What do you girls think? We have the cocktail hour with tons of food and then appetizer, salad (here would be pasta) main course, wedding cake and chocolate fondue. My mom, being Italian, says to get it but whoever is Italian knows that we always over do it with food

isn't there a pasta station during the CH- I am trying to avoid doubling up on anything. If there is pasta at the CH, I wouldn't do it twice.

Ditch the pasta. No one will even notice it's missing.

For me and my family it would be a must,,,BUT you dont necessarily have to get it.

Honestly,,if I take 2 bites from my pasta; thats a lot...

Can you swing the extra money??if not, dont even worry about it....

ETA: JessicaM has a great point,,if your having a pasta station at your CH,,then dont spend the extra money...

I was thinking about the same thing. I can't believe it is $2PP. I mean really how much does a copule of boxes of pasta cost them?

I would have to try their pasta first. Being Italians are very picky.

I opted not to add the pasta at my wedding for 2 reasons.

1) they wanted $7 a person, which was just too much. I actually got them to come down to $5 but still.

2)the main reason was I wanted people dancing. I didn't want the band to stop and people to sit down to eat again! They eat so much at coctail hour - you definately don't need it!

We're going to have pasta primavera (sp?) during the cocktail hour. You girls are right, who's really going to notice. Thanks

I would say if you have to pay extra for it, then don't bother. Its really not necessary with all that you are having.

save your money...no one will notice..and I am assuming WM is the Watermill, right?? If it is,,I have been to many weddings there and the amount of food they give during CH and dinner is amazing and more than enough for a guest to notice a pasta dish is missing....

Re: Pasta during main course

youre talking to an italian over here too-
we ae having Pasta at cocktail hour so we are eliminating the pasta during dinner- one we dont want to double up, but two, it is another course they need to serve, therefore less party time...

we are doing the combo -so it is less courses...

I don't think pasta is necessary.
Is this an addition to the 7 choices, or is it included in the 7?
