So we met with Patken yesterday. They were awesome! Everything from the layout of the albums to the candid/photojournalistic style.... it's exactly what we were looking for. We seemed to like Vinny's style of photography the best. So we met with him and he was great! i got a really good feeling about them and I know you girls have been raving about Patken!
They put a package together with photo and video for a little over 6000. (we liked the fancy 'magazine style' album.) Not sure if that's a good price or not. It includes A LOT... but we have nothing else to compare to since this was the 1st photographer we looked at...
What I'm looking for right now is-1. Any reviews of Patken (for both photo AND video) and any reviews of specific photographers. And 2. Any other photographers who have a style similar to Patken that we can go see, just to shop around/compare prices etc.
Any input is appreciated- as always!
Thanks girls!

Re: Patken
I got married in 2004, and I used Patken for Photo and Video. I can't remember who did the video, but Vinny did our photos and they came out absolutely wonderful. He was great to work with the whole day. I think we paid about 5,000 - so it seems like you got a good price! We didn't have a magazine album. You won't regret it. We got our proofs really quick, i have nothing bad to say about them at all! Let me know if you have any questions!

FYI, we booked w/ Patken too, and they warned us beforehand that if we wanted anything extra outside of our contract, after the wedding, it would be quite expensive. i don't know if you're friend was told the same thing, but i'm glad they disclosed that right away. we actually thought it was a ploy to get us to book a bigger package.

Re: Patken
Used Patken for video & photo - Jessie was our photographer & Mike our videographer. Got out proofs & they are awesome, haven't gotten video yet so can't say anything about that.
As far as pictures being very expensive after the wedding, I would disagree. If we ordered additonal pictures that weren't in our contract within two weeks of receiving our proofs they were 50% off - great offer.
We got our proofs two weeks after our wedding.
I have two friends that used Patken so that's why I used them - nothing but rave reviews for Patken.

Re: Patken
I used Patken for my June 29th Watermill Wedding. We had Vinny as the photographer and Tim as the videographer. Both were wonderful the day of. Pics came out amazing, as did our albums and parent albums. We just received our video and we love that as well. Like someone else said, if you order extra pictures after the wedding, they are 50% off within the first two weeks of getting your proofs. I didnt think the price was bad at all.... We think that going with Patken was one of the best decisions of our wedding. I have a few proofs in my album and I did a review of them on the wedding review board.

Re: Patken
I made a HUGE mistake by not booking with Patken. You will be in good hands if you book with them...they seemed like very professional and caring people.

Re: Patken
I would also recommend booking video and photo by two different vendors. Just in case something happens. Not saying that anything will...but this is what saved me from not having any memories of my day. If interested I used Bellarino for video and I couldn't be happier with them.

Re: Patken
I booked with PAtken. Vinny is awesome. Three people at work used him too. Once we finish making the album and all that jazz we are going to get a cd of all the phtotos taken that day. So if we wanted to do soemthing else we could on our own. We had them put that in our contract.
