Patken Brides who have their proofs already...

I can't remember if I asked anyone this already but here goes...if you ask for your proofs on CD, do they charge extra?

I'm getting my negatives on a CD, but I won't get them until everything has been ordered.

The negatives were part of my contract......

Patken, so I've heard makes you wait a year, [or until ur album is done] plus I believe it's an extra $100.

I probably have that in my contract too. When yoy say negatives, do u mean the proofs in an album, or the proofs on a cd?
What has Patken told you about proofs on a cde because its been about 6 1/2 months since my wedding day and I really hope I don't have to wait til my album comes in, cause it hasn't been ordered, due to extra pix=extra money. Can you FM and tell me what they have told you? I really want my proofs on a cd, or at least know when I should be getting them. Everyone at Patken are giving me different answers.

actually as per our contract we get our CD when we pick up our album.

I was told you get the CD 6 months after you pick up your albums & it costs extra unless it was in your contract or some other agreement was decided upon.

OMg, now its 6 months after the album!
this is soooooo ridiculous!

but the owner told me they do this so they can make sure they print EVERY enlargement we want in quality .. .
yeah like i have $150 for an 11x14!
eta - i wouldn't even sped $150 for an 11x14 if i had it!!!

to be honest it doesn't bother me at all. I'm happy with my proofs, I'm happy with my reprints, I'm happy with my trial album, my album should be in in about 2 weeks. I feel why and insult to injury worrying about the CD. I could see if you were unhappy with your proofs.

and my proofs around the time of my 2 yr anniversary

i dont understand, so many photographers will give it to brides alot sooner. . . . thats messed up!

did you choose your pictures yet? I did everything within that 2-week period back in September & my albums ahould be ready by February.

yea, Patken is very fast at turnaround and as soon as you submitt your proofs for your album, they get to work immediately.

yes they do, but the longer u wait 4 ur album, the longer it takes to do [so ive heard]

no i submitted the paperwork just a few weeks ago, i just knew it was going to be alot more $, b/c i had about another 200 pix that i added, so im saving up for it. . . its going to be awhile, but itll be worth the wait

on the downside, their holding the parent albums b/c mine isnt done yet! how ridiculous is that! both my mother and mother in law are not happy about that!
its ridiculous- why should the parents have to wait? i feel horribnle, but theres nothing i can really do.

well think about it, they have to hold something for ransom if you still owe them money for upgrading your album. Its common business practice. They aren't going to give you something and run the risk of you not paying the remander of your balance.

Just to clarify....I am very happy with my proofs. The only reason I want them on CD is so I can keep it at my moms house, G*d forbid something happens and the albums get destroyed...at least I will have something.

I am going this Saturday to make the final changes to the Album proof and then they can get cracking on my Album. I am HOPING to have it by my 1 st anniversary!!
