Paul's got a new diet!

We've been so busy focusing on the house lately that I forgot to update my Mommy friends on Paul's new diet.

We went to the doctor a couple of weeks ago for his checkup...for those of you who think I've got a chubby little baby, let me tell you - those cheeks are deceiving! His body is very lean and the doctor said he could be gaining more! That made me feel like what am I starving my child??? He eats well, he sleeps well! But, she said that I could've started to let him try some table food at this point.

So, we've been giving him some tastes for our meals here and there. He's had mashed up sweet potatos, Cheerios (believe it or not, he's not that crazy about them!), Stella Doro breakfast treats, vanilla pudding and some other stuff. Today, I'm going to give him yogurt. It's so cute to watch him taste new things!!

I remember I made the mistake of letting my son taste his first McDonald french fry when he was a baby..
He never wanted to eat ANYTHING ever again..
lol

It seems to get easier when they can eat table foods cause its one less thing to worry about when you go out

Hope he enjoys the yogurt claud ;-)

Okay, I have to share this b/c it's too cute. This morning, I was feeding him some soggy Cheerios, and they were on his highchair tray. I would pick one up and put it in his mouth to show him how to feed himself.
After about 3-4, he picks one up and puts it in MY MOUTH!! How cute is that??? He was sharing his Cheerios with Mommy... . My little angel is showing me in small glimpses the joy that I have to look forward to as he grows and learns new things!

Jodi, my twin cousins where the same way with the mcdonalds..

When we would drive anywhere with them, my aunt had to make sure not to pass a mcdonalds or they would scream DONALLLLLLLLL for like an hour ..and unfortuatly they lived right around the corner from them.. she used to say trying to get home and avoiding that was horrible!! LOL

Claude these stories you tell about your beautiful baby are adorable.. and making me want one right now!! LOL

Re: Paul's got a new diet!

My niece is 27 months and she is in the 20% percentile on weight. She's long and lean and they made my SIL feel like she is starving her!! In the meantime, this kid is a very diversified eater, not fussy at all and doesn't refuse food but I think she's just a skinny minny. There's a huge difference between an undernourished child and one whole is thriving but not fitting the 'textbook sizing' that they go by to measure them. I'm no expert but I say keep doing what you're doing and keep up the additions to his diet so he has the variety. Some kids are more active even when they are as little as my guy so they burn more calories. I can't wait to see him trying all the good stuff too!!

I love it when you share things with us, I feel like I am getting to know him cyberly (I know there is no such word) but I had to say it. Thanks for sharing I got the feeling Paul was saying, Mommy if its good enough for me its good enough for you too
