I got a postcard this weekend from the Melville Marriot (I think). It said they would be happy to pass out OOT bags, for $1 each! I didn't know you had to pay to have them given out. Is that the case everywhere?
It should just be a courtesy that the hotel does...esp if you have a block with them.
You are lucky mine charges $5 but I will discuss that with the woman I booked with when I go there in July--I feel that is ridiculous since I have people coming to their hotel & are paying $115 plus we are hosting a brunch the next morning. Unreal
I am not sure if this is common but I want to know if it is. This should be part of their concierge service, IMO and I'd be annoyed to be asked to PAY.

I'm not surprised. My company hosts a lot of functions there and they nickel and dime my company to DEATH! $5 to put a bag in a room? give me a break.

I don't even want them to be in the rooms I want them to hand them out when people check in--hopefully i can get them to waive the charge.
The hotel where I'm staying charges for the bags to be delivered to the rooms, so they're there when people get to the room. There's no charge to hand them out at check-in. Maybe that's the case with your hotel too?

Oh my goodness! I never heard of them charging to hand out oot bags! My hotel isn't doing that thank goodness! That is just ridiculous!!
That is so ridiculous, it doesn't cost them anything or take anything away.- Anything to make a dollar!
