I'm going for my measurements on Thursday night and I already put down a $300 deposit on my dress back in March. My Mom offered to pay for my dress so I'm wondering when I go in on Thursday, do I have to pay off my balance?
I could have sworn the lady told me that I do have to pay it off in order for them to order it.
TIA

Re: Paying off your dress
I thnk every place is different.
I had to pay 60% when they ordered it and the rest wither before they will do measurements or before I pick it up (I do not remember which one and I do not have my binder at work)

Im getting my dress from Village Bridal, I think they said I have to pay in full before they do alterations.

Agreed. I got mine at Macy's... I paid like $300 or 500 down, but had to pay the balance when it came in and I tried it on, luckily enough they are still storing it for me until the wedding!

Jill you ordered your dress from Paradise too. Did they tell you that it would be in like 8 weeks before your wedding . I'm panicing a little over this. Just wondering if they told you the same thing too.

This for me too! I put $550 down and then paid off the remaining balance when it came in.

Re: Paying off your dress
I just called about mine. I put a 100 dollar deposit down last month to hold the price because it was a trunk show. I asked today and was told I need to pay half of the manufacturers suggested retail. That would mean they would have 75% and I wont be picking it up until the beginning of June. It just doesnt sit right with me. Why wouldnt I put down half of what I am paying?
Is anyone being charged a shipping fee?

Re: Paying off your dress
I got my dress from RK Bridal and left about a 50% deposit when placing the order, and taking my measurements. The balance I believe is due when it comes in and I go to try it on. I would not pay 100% in full when ordering, in case something goes wrong in the ordering process, etc.

This.. I would feel pretty uncomfortable putting 100% down and would find the dress elsewhere.
My mom put 60% down, which I felt was a lot (I assumed that it would be like 30%), but I guess it isn't too far above the norm.
Edited for grammar.

Re: Paying off your dress
Most places I went to required 50-60% down to order and balance due when the dress came in.
