I was at payless the other day and saw their dyables. they are different than the used to be - you buy a pair that is almost plasticy, and then return them to get a real pair dyed. Strange. But they had a really cute pair of sandal peep toes that had little crystals / rhinestones, and they were only $15!!!!! I do not know how much the dying is ... but it seems worth it! I may wind up getting them. Anyone else doing this or did???

Re: Payless wedding shoes?
I didn't buy from there but I did notice that they all said they weren't dyeable but the girl working there said they could be dyed I didn't really understand. I'm pretty sure my mom said its like $20 to have them dye it but I'm not sure about that!!!

Re: Payless wedding shoes?
oh, ok. so if i buy a pair somewhere else for like $40, it's pretty much the same price then. ok. I will keep them in mind though.
yeah the new system is weird. you buy the ones there, bring them home and then return them when you are ready to dye. WEIRD.

That is weird- they used to dye them for free from what I can recall..think that has changed though from what it sounds like.

You should also make sure that they are comfortable. Payless is not known for that and you definately need to have happy feet on your wedding day

Re: Payless wedding shoes?
I did this for my cousins wedding...when I brought the $15 shoes back it would have been $42 total for the dying and shoes....I ended up returning them and buying nicer shoes for the same price!!

$3 is not bad at all- also I think that the shoes from David's Bridal though are a bit expensive- I know one of my BM's is getting shoes that cost like $60 from there and having them dyed to match her dress exactly (since they have all the colors of their dresses there)
And yes the Payless dyeable shoes are not as comfortable imo as other shoes.

Ok, so it looks like payless is not such a great idea. And I know david's is expensive usually with their accessories (guess that is how they make up for their super affordable dresses, I have one!) so that is why I was thinking of looking at their shoes only when they were having a sale. I may go to craft shoes next weekend though, I'll look there first!

If you like I highly recommend where I got my shoes- Bridal Shoe Boutique over in Carle Place by DSW- I paid $65 for shoes but they offer free dyeing and the shoes imo are super comfy... I stood still with them and walked around with my shoes for like two hours yesterday at my fitting and never complained once.
Also maybe try Ebay- then you can get the shoes cheap and just have to pay to have them dyed.

I'm thinking of getting them for my RD to match my dress since I can't find any that I like in the blue I need. I think it is $20 for the dying.

I love the look of jessica simpson shoes but if you haven't worn them before I find they run very narrow. I wore them to a party once and ended up shuffling my feet because I was in agony.
