I was wondering if you could tell me how your payment plan worked with your location. How much was the deposit and how often did you have to make payments? When did you start making your payments, how long before your wedding were you paying? Thanks

Re: Payments with Halls
We left a thousand dollar deposit and then every 3 months starting from the day of the deposit we send in a payment.

Re: Payments with Halls
Withthisring -- You are getting right around the time I am. I think you are getting married at Manor East too right? I am concerned because they had told me to put $1000 down and then pay every 3 months. But are there 'clauses' put in place in case they go out of business or in case you change your mind? I am concerned only because 4/2006 is so far away. What are your thoughts?

pretty much the same - $1000 to book and then $2000 every three months....i think the month before we have to give them $3000 and then the balance the day of or the day before......i guess i should check on that.

Re: Payments with Halls
I left a $500 deposit, then paid $1000 for 3 months, 6 months before I have to pay $3500, (which is this week!) and the lump sum is due I think the day of.

Re: Payments with Halls
I left a 500.00 deposit then I have to pay them 25% in 6 months then the balance 2-4 weeks prior to the wedding. I have to double check on that.

Re: Payments with Halls
Yes I am at the ME.
So far I have had no problems. I have been paying them for almost a year and I will honestly say their were 2 payments that we were late on and had absolutly no problems. I am dealing with Michael and he has been an absolute angel.
I have read my contract so many times and I didnt see any small print stuff.
I think the only way you dont get your money back is if you cancel.
I wouldnt worry about them at all. They have been in business for 30 years. Family owned and operated

Re: Payments with Halls
WE put $500 down when we booked, 75% of the expected balance 30 days before, the balance the night of (which we did two days before).

Re: Payments with Halls
I heard some places take a credit card deposit but then don't tell you that all future payments must be by check. No credit cards after that! (Shucks. Those air miles would be so great to get.)

Re: Payments with Halls
We put $500 down, then at 6 months before we had to pay 10% of our guarenteed people number, then the balance the week before the wedding.
We also underestimated the amount of people we would have at the wedding to account for last minute no-shows and such - which worked in our favor since we had 5 cancellations that week!

Re: Payments with Halls
We put $1,000 down. In three months we pay $2,000 and then three more months another $2,000. Then I think the balance is due the Wednesday before our wedding....I think!

Re: Payments with Halls
We paid $ 1000 down. We then have $ 5,000 payments every quarter with the balance paid in full two weeks before the event

Re: Payments with Halls
We had to put 10% down and then we make 3 payments before the wedding and the rest is 2 weeks before the wedding. When we turn in our head count.

Re: Payments with Halls
I put $500 down then $1000 for the next three months after booking, then $ 3500 due this week (six months before) then a LARGE check due 10 days before and $2000 due the day of the wedding.

Re: Payments with Halls
If I remember correctly.. it was 10% down, and a total of 75% is due about 3 months before the wedding..then the last 1/4 due at the wedding.
