Ok I'm a little slow but I bid on an item on ebay and they only accept paypal. so I set up a pay pal account and added my credit card number to it. Does this mean that if I purchase an item that it will be charged to my credit card, or do I still have to have it taken out of a bank account? I'm a little confused.

if you set up the money to come off that credit card, then yes it is charged to your credit card. if you set it up to take it out of your checking and marked that as a way you wanted to pay then it comes from your checking.
how did you set it up?

I set it up so it would be on my credit card. When I set up my account I just clicked the 'add credit card' icon.

You should be able to go in and add the checking account. It has been several years since I set up my account, but I imagine that has to be a way to do that.
