Pearl's Bakery review
We had my e-party this past weekend and we got the cake from Pearl's in Commack.
I had to order the cake over the phone because I live and work in NYC, so I said we were having 60 people and we needed a sheet cake. They told me to get a full sheet cake. Well, this cake was probably meant to feed 200 -- it wasn't just a sheet cake, it was 2 sheets with a custard in between. I was annoyed because a half sheet would have been more than sufficient but I felt like they just wanted me to spend more money. The cake was just ok -- the icing wasn't very sweet, the chocolate cake itself was just so-so. I felt like the custard in the middle was really out of place. A friend brought cupcakes and those disappeared immediately, I felt like no one even wanted this cake.
