P***ed off! Scared!

I am so stressed. My wedding is at the Coral House and they are redoing the lake and I just so wanted a lakeside setting. I am really tempted to terminate the contract if they cannot guarantee that water will be in by my wedding date. (May 29th). I have a dang gone it cold sore to boot b/c I am so stressed!

did you talk to them about it? I would be pissed too especially b.c that is one of their selling points.

Did they say when they think it will be done. I would imagine, may being a big wedding month they would push to have it done!!

They said what I have heard. March the lake will be fille din. I hope this means that the ugly white fence will be gone.

I went there to check the place out. They told me the lake will be filled by spring. You may have a hard time finding another place so late, so you might want to check that before you cancel the contract. I heard someone on here say they were 'upgraded' to the rooftop, but I dunno how much that helps you.

I saw the rooftop and to be honest it overlooks the lake so that is even worse.

Good luck that would really piss me off to! Did they tell you they were going to be doing this when you signed the contract?

Nope. No one mentioned a thing but they were so nice I said I'd give it a chance.
But as the day gets closer I am panicing. I mean the room is still beautiful dont get me wrong but I refuse to pay the full plate price since the view is missing.

According to them, they don't own the lake, the town does. So they told me it's not their decision when it's done.

Me and FH checked that place out, and I too remember one of the managers saying it was going to be finished by March.

I work right next door at Freeport HS. It's true that the work is being done by Nassau County - so the Coral House people have nothing to do with it - I can keep you posted if you want on progress - but to be honest - it is a mess right now!! There are a zillion trucks and tractors there all day long and I don't know what their doing - but they have been there for a good number of months already! FM me if you want more info or for me to keep my eye on it!

Aww sweetie, I understand your fear and stress. You are absolutely right, that you shouldn't pay full price for something that isn't what you thought you were getting. I will also keep my eye out...I drive by there often. You will have a wonderful wedding...

Just so you know it really isnt the Coral House's Fault they don't own the lake. It is a town of Hempstead lake. And the town is in the middle of this huge project where they drain the lake and clean them out so that the wildlife can grow their. They did it to hempstead lake park last year I think and the stuff that they found dumped in the lake was unreal. From what I remember there was a couple of hundred gun parts, all kinds of drug do-dads, amoung other things.

It really shouldn't take that long for them to finish up what they are doing. Just pray that the weather gets better real fast so they can work faster.
