Sorry to all those girls who work in the city and were affected by this on Valentine's Day. I was a city commuter for 7 years before getting my dream job five minutes from home on LI.
It ****s!! That's one thing I don't miss. Glad to hear all is back up and running.

02/14/03) PENN STATION - Thousands of commuters got a real scare on Friday when they were evacuated from Penn Station and forced to wait on the sidewalk due to a track fire.
Officials say the blaze was started by a loose cable that hit the third rail on Penn Station's track 21, which carries LIRR service into the station.
LIRR service was stopped in both directions around 3:45 p.m. and resumed about 6:45 p.m.
Police say smoke conditions forced the brief evacuation of the LIRR concourse.
