penn station delays UPDATE:

for those of you who ride the train or know some one who does their trains are delayed

Service is temporarily suspended between Penn Station and Jamaica in both directions due to a pedestrian accident between Forest Hills and Woodside. The train involved is the 5:17 PM train from Penn Station scheduled to arrive at Huntington at 6:21 PM, which is being held at the scene. New York City Transit is cross-honoring LIRR tickets.

At approximately 7:15 PM, very limited eastbound service has been restored out of Penn Station, with residual delays of up to two hours. Service still remains suspended westbound into Penn Station.

Two additional trains are being held at this time. The 5:29 PM from Hunterspoint Avenue, scheduled to arrive in Ronkonkoma at 6:45 PM and the 5:32 PM train from Penn Station, scheduled to arrive in Far Rockaway at 6:24 PM.

As a result, we are currently experiencing upwards of 30-minute delays on the Port Washington Branch.

Thanks for the info!! I hope no one was killed. I just called FH and he can't get home now. Now I have to go to Queens to get him at the subway station.

It's so sad ...on the news they said a child was struck and killed. My heart stopped when I heard. My prayers go out to the family

OMG That is sooooo sad. Thats horrible

I just talked to my DH who is on a 7:39 train to Babylon that he says is moving fine.... I don't know, maybe service is running again :(
