Penny in your shoe

Hi girls,

Did you/are you putting a penny (or a sixpence) in your shoe on your wedding day?

Did you/are you going to tape it or glue it there?

I'd like to do this, but I don't know how comfortable it will be all day/night long.

I've heard girls taping it in their shoe where your foot's arch is.

I didn't do this, but I had a BM who just WOULDN'T give it up! She was DYING for me to have a sixpence in my shoe. I was like, 'Hey, BM, give it up, I have a hard enough time with shoes and I'd rather not put stuff in my shoe' and she'd be like 'But you have to! It's the last line of the poem!!!!'

I think because she was a BM for another bride who had the coin in her shoe she insisted that I do it too, but I'm not really sure why she wouldn't drop it.

Sorry, this doesn't answer your question, but I laughed remembering the debate over the Darned coin.

I don't know if I am doing that yet... but I would probably tape it in there and I don't think you will feel it if you put it on the shoe by the arch of your foot!

I had a sixpence in my shoe. After the first 2 minutes I didn't even notice it was there!

Edited to say I wore closed shoes so I just threw it in there. I think tape would have been annoying though.

I did put one on my shoe, I put it more in teh arch area and used a bandaid to cover it. I thought the extra padding on the bandaid would help me not feel it so much and I didnt feel it at all!

I taped a sixpence in my shoe just under the arch of my foot. I took the sixpence out right after the ceremony. I couldn't feel it but I wanted to keep it as an heirloom for my hopefully daughter and I was afraid I would loose it.
